ERP News from the Food ERP Industry

Saw a couple interesting articles recently from vertical ERP software vendors in the food industry that we wanted to share. Produce Pro Software announced expansion due to and increased customer base in the perishable foods industry segment. A niche player, Produce Pro Software was spun of it’s original parent company SWC (formerly Subject, Wills & Company). A smaller player in the food processing and food distribution vertical, Produce Pro Software appears to be very focused and growing with four locations, over 70 employees, and more than 160 customers.

Another food ERP vendor, Linkfresh ERP, accounced a new customer win. Linkfresh is based on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV accounting and ERP platform with a higher-end version for Microsoft Dynamics AX. A global company, Linkfresh is headquartered in the UK with offices in the USA with customers in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Czech Republic, Portugal, and Sweden.

Both companies are exhibiting at the Produce Marketing Association’s PMA Fresh Summit in Orlando, FL. Other niche ERP vendors exhibiting include Famous Software, iNECTA, (also on Microsoft Dynamics NAV), Edible Software, and Silver Creek Software who appears to have a legacy with Sage Pro and likely other products with other accounting platforms.

e2b represents another great product for food and beverage manufacturers, Sage X3, which offers complete lot traceability and enterprise-level distribution capabilities on top of a truly global accounting and technology base.
