There are many great ERP systems out there that focus exclusively on field service but most have relatively basic accounting (or none at all) and many of them are built on older technologies. Perhaps that’s why there are so many add-on field service applications on the market that integrate to various accounting or ERP systems.

Field Service ERP
Some business applications are vertically or industry-focused on field service and typically have their own accounting modules. Some of the more popular products include IFS Field Service Management (originally WorkWave – also works with QuickBooks), Synchroteam, FieldEdge, Servman, Wintac (also for QuickBooks), Microsoft Dynamics 365, Jonas Enterprise, and Infor Service Management (to name a few).
Best of Breed
Some field service applications can plug-in to multiple ERP or business applications. Take for example Service Pro by MSI Data which integrates with Sage 100cloud, Oracle NetSuite, Intuit QuickBooks; ServiceTitan that integrates with Sage Intacct and Intuit QuickBooks; and ViewPoint Vista construction software. Other best of breed field service applications with multiple integrations include Mobile Resource Manager, FieldEZ, NetDispather, ServiceTrade (including Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, and others), Astea (tier one and mid-market ERP products),
QuickBooks itself has almost no functionality to support field service but there are a few add-on products available in the marketplace to extend QuickBooks. Some of these products are HindSite (also with Sage 50cloud), ServiceMax by GE (also for FinancialForce.com), Wrike (also for Harvest), HouseCallPro, mHelpDesk, Jobber (also for Xero), Coolfront Mobile, ServiceM8 (also for Xero & MYOB), SmartService, RazorSync, Kickserv (also for Xero), Apptivo (also for Xero), UpKeep (also for Xero), FieldEdge, Service Fusion, Service AutoPilot, Click Field Service Edge, Corrigo Field Service Management, Field Promax, Breezeworks, and many others on the apps.com marketplace.
Microsoft has several ERP products available and none have great field service out of the box but most have third party products that were built in the application framework and designed to work exclusively with the respective Microsoft Dynamics ERP system. Some of these are Key2Act (fka WennSoft) for Microsoft Dynamics GP, Core Systems,
Sage has many different accounting and ERP products and there is a field service add-on available for most (if not all) of them. Some of the more popular options include JobOps Field Service, Service Edge, iig Service Management, for Sage 100cloud, SingleSource for Sage 500 ERP, and FieldPoint, Service Titan, and KloudGin for Sage Intacct. Sage offers their own product called Sage Service Operations for construction companies that need field service. This is provided for Sage 100 Contractor and Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate products. Sage CRM development partner Greytrix also offers a field service app that integrates with the CRM system that could be an option for others using Sage ERP products.
Epicor ERP has some basic field service functionality out of the box which is a great start for many companies. There is a more advanced field service module available called Advanced Field Service Management built and designed by Hitachi. There’s another great product available from Evron for field service that could be another option for field service as well.
Most general accounting and ERP business systems can be extended with third party field service applications. Many of these are directly integrated with the core accounting software while others may need to be integrated by a consulting organization.
