The ISO/TS 16949 is the quality standard defined by ISO for automotive suppliers which defines the processes and documentation required for automotive parts design, development, and production. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard and was created by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) with a technical committee at ISO. The majority of automotive vehicle manufacturers utilize ISO/TS 16949 with little variation.
