Swedish ERP publisher IFS recently completed its user conference announcing a new estimate management system to help manufacturers to determine the most competitive price to use on bids for sales quotes common in many industry segments including government, automotive, and others where requests for quotes (RFQ) is common practice. IFS also announced a new IoT Business Connector to extend its flagship ERP to the Internet of Things for sharing and capturing data from devices with data analytics. The platform is built on Microsoft Azure IoT Suite. Integration with hardware and machines is nothing new for manufacturing ERP but it will certainly be interesting to see how manufacturers utilize this new product from IFS to expand ERP usage into new and unconventional areas of their business and supply chains.
